While incidents are rare thanks to our driver verification process, EzChargez includes a Host Protection Policy specifically to give hosts peace of mind in the unlikely event that a driver causes damage during a session.
What the policy covers
The Host Protection Policy is designed to cover property damage directly caused by a driver during an active, confirmed EzChargez session — for example, damage to your charging equipment, driveway, or immediate surrounding property that occurs while a driver is charging at your location.
How to file a claim
- Document the damage as soon as you notice it — take clear photos from multiple angles.
- Open the app and go to the Support tab.
- Select "Report Property Damage" and attach your photos along with a description of what happened.
- Submit your report within 48 hours of the session for the fastest review.
What happens after you file
Our support and trust & safety team reviews each claim individually, which may include reaching out to the driver involved and reviewing session details like timestamps and messages. We aim to resolve claims promptly and will work with you throughout the process to reach a fair outcome.
Why this matters for hosts
Every driver on EzChargez is a verified account holder, which significantly reduces risk compared to an anonymous arrangement. Combined with the Host Protection Policy, this gives hosts a meaningful safety net that most informal charger-sharing arrangements simply don't have. If you ever have concerns about a specific driver even before an incident occurs, you can also report a problem proactively.
Preventing issues before they start
Clear listing instructions — noting exactly where to park, how to plug in, and any specific handling notes for your equipment — go a long way toward preventing accidental damage in the first place. Most hosts never need to file a claim, but it's reassuring to know the protection is there if something unusual does happen.
